The Special Operations Forces Business Association (SOFBA), as part of the National Special Operations Business Association, creates opportunities and establishes trusted networks for the growing community of SOF Business Owners in order to help them grow their business, establish teaming agreements, share content, find answers, post contracts and bids for subcontracting.
SOF is a brotherhood, and SOFBA advocates for keeping business “in the family.”
SOFBA promotes a “Buy SOF” message to government, corporations and customers worldwide. As part of that campaign, the SOFBA.org website will establish a “Buy SOF” online marketplace where SOFBA members will have a listing – and will be authorized to display the SOFBA logo on their own websites and marketing materials.
SOFBA leads advocacy efforts for SOF-owned businesses and SOF-friendly businesses – especially the U.S Government’s mandated contracting goal to award 3% of its contracts to veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran owned (SDVOSB) businesses. As most SOF-owned businesses are SDVOSB, the goal is to establish teaming agreements within the SOF-Owned Business (SOB) community to take advantage of government set-asides and opportunities.
SOFBA is committed to working with corporations to include SOBs in their supplier diversity policies – which is aimed primarily at Veteran Owned Businesses. As corporations become aware of the special status of SOBs and their ability to provide the same elite level of service and mission accomplishment used to execute the most sensitive, no-fail missions in the world, SOFBA will work towards getting these SOF-Friendly corporations to establish a minimum 3% goal.
Membership is designed for business owners who are verified current or former members of the Special Operations community. Associate memberships are granted to demonstrated SOF-Friendly companies or individuals who have contributed significantly to the Special Operations Business Community.
